Leeds United have signed our prolific striker, Jermaine Beckford. Jermaine who has scored 35 goals in competitive matches this season, has signed a three and a half-year contract. He had a medical after the clubs agreed an undisclosed fee. He is expected to be officially presented tomorrow by Leeds who are pushing for promotion to the Premiership. Jermaine Beckford admits he is "totally gobsmacked" at the thought of playing for Leeds after signing the deal with Leeds. Part of the deal will see Leeds play a pre-season friendly against the Stones at Chestnut Avenue. Leeds manager Kevin Blackwell had the striker watched on a number of occasions before making a bid and the player wasted no time in agreeing to make the move north. "I still can't believe I am up here," he said. "I only found out about the move on Tuesday and it hasn't sunk in yet - I am still gobsmacked.
