Mark Barton

The early years are all a bit blurred, but I do recall it all started when I became a ball boy at Lower Mead with my friend Lee Davidson in 1968 or 1969.

Returned in the Gordon Mackay and Mark Lloyd years when we all worked for Ladbrokes. Racing used to finish around 3pm on Saturdays (those were the good days) so we

all used to pop down and watch the Stones. I did go away once, the QPR v Wealdstone Cup Match?

Somehow ended up as an armchair follower and became disillusioned during the wilderness years after the demise of Lower Mead. Mark Lloyd got me interested in the Stones again in the second half of the 2007/2008 season.

My son George and I helped raise money for the club when we went on the Supporters Club Walk to Hendon.
